Help in isolation

Coping with a second lockdown

At this time of great need God wants to use us as salt and light in our community and among our friends and family.

We want to help people, but we must be wise and follow the guidelines given by the government to protect others as well as ourselves. Some of us who are used to having hands-on roles may, at this time, need to adjust to a role which is more behind the scenes, equipping, encouraging and praying, especially if we are in a more vulnerable group or if we’re self-isolating.

As Christians we should be active in community initiatives which are already in place. Can you offer support to others through a neighbourhood group or WhatsApp group or can you initiate one? Let your neighbours know that you are praying for them not just offering practical help.

This is document is a response to the impact of the virus and the preventaive measures being put in place. We hope it will be a help and encouragement to you during this time.

Consider volunteering as an NHS volunteer responder at

There are a variety of roles, some of which don’t involve leaving your home. If these volunteer positions have already been filled there may be more opportunities soon.

Please support local organisations which are serving the most vulnerable people in our town. Can you financially support Wycombe Homeless Connection or One Can Trust who have plenty of donated food stocks at present but need donations to provide food packages at a larger scale. Could you organise a doorstep collection point for One Can Trust? Find out more here.

YMCA need people to help at their hostels. You would be supporting residents with meals, phone support and helping to ensure our buildings are safe and clean. You would be working alongside and be supported by our Accommodation Staff as part of the team. Training and inductions are provided. Click here to register and find out more.

If you would be available to practically help members of our church and community please contact us here. Training will be provided for volunteers.

If you need practical help or have a prayer request please contact us here
