Young Adults and Students

At Union we have a growing number of young adults in our community. From young professionals, those returning from university and beginning working life, to students still completing their degrees or taking gap years.

At this exciting, scary and confusing time in their lives support is needed! As well as being involved in the wider community of our church, we have a home group specifically for young adults (approx. 20 - 30s) which meets on Tuesday evenings. Sometimes the Young Adults group leads services, as well as having socials including summer barbeques and dinners together.

There are many opportunities for young adults and students to serve at Union if God leads them to do so; from helping with the youth and childrens work, to playing in the music group at the front during morning and/or evening services. Those with free time during the week can also get involved in other activities in the church such as Coffee Break, Night Shelter, or Open Door.

Welcome Students!

We welcome all students at Union, from those wanting to find out more about Christianity for the first time, to those wanting to come and serve Jesus in their new university town. At this exciting, but challenging time in life, we aim to help you strengthen your faith and feel at home away from home. We regularly run newcomers’ lunches to help you meet other people in the church and there are plenty of opportunities to come and get involved in the life of our church – this could range from getting involved in one of our music teams  to getting alongside people who have become homeless or supporting people with learning disabilities, to name but a few . If you want to find out about the Christian faith, why not try one of our Christianity Explored courses?

Hannah, our Gap Year Worker, works with our young people and runs the games sessions after church each Sunday evening which the youth, young adults and students all enjoy.
