Our Leadership

Union Baptist is led by our Senior Pastor Malcolm Hazell who is supported by our Interim Associate Pastor Mike Burmingham and our Youth Worker Pete Hawkins.

We also have a team of 4 Elders and 10 Deacons, elected from church members, who work with Malcolm, Mike and Pete to deliver the church ministries.  The HUB team provide support to the church as well as running the HUB, which is the church's purpose built multi-functional facility which can accommodate meetings, conferences, concerts and other events throughout the week.

Malcolm Hazell – Senior Pastor

Malcolm moved to Union Baptist High Wycombe in summer 2015 having previously been the minister of Chenies Baptist Church for 12 years.

Malcolm is married to Dawn and they have three teenage children, Rob, Sarah and Michael.  Malcolm grew up in Croxley Green and trained as a management accountant with Unilever in London and Liverpool. Later he joined BPP Professional Education where he taught finance and strategy and directed professional accountancy training for BPP in the U.K..

Dawn and Malcolm love the outdoors and, with two Springer Spaniels, an allotment and children’s football matches to watch it is just as well.

Malcolm is passionate for the good news of Jesus to bring faith where there is doubt, hope instead of despair and love to overcome hatred.

Mike Burmingham – Interim Associate Pastor

Mike has been Union Baptist's Interim Associate Pastor since January 2013. He previously attended Totteridge Baptist Church from 1968, where he served as their Pastor from 2006 – 2012 until he retired from full time Ministry.

Mike is married to Drush and they has two grown up children and 5 grandchildren.  He enjoys his retirement as well as working for Union on a part time basis. He has a particular calling for evangelistic ministry and runs the church's Christianity Explored courses and Kidz Club.
